About Me

My name is Rachel Rubi and I'm a 19 year-old fashion storyteller with a camera and pen ink stains on my right pinky. My parents are from Nicaragua but I was born and raised in the outskirts of Miami. I speak English, Spanish, and a bit of French. I am inspired by every day life. I hold fashion, beauty, poetry, photography, film, and journaling very dear to my heart.

I also really enjoy talking about social issues and what we can do to fix them. In my effort to spread awareness and promote ethically made products, I will be selectively speaking about where I get my products and garments. For the most part, I will not be posting where my products are from because I really just want my readers to focus on the art of pairing sartorial pieces together regardless of where it's from. I want to promote creativity and inspire others to find their own style. But from time to time, I'll be more than happy to add in ethical, alternative shops to get a similar look! Unfortunately, I cannot always afford ethical companies but I strive to make conscious decisions within my means. If I feel the need to mention products, I will make sure to emphasize when a product has been ethically made. My main focus is to show the world that this industry has a lot to offer and that together, we can make it a better place.

I aspire to hand off my rose-colored sunglasses to my readers whenever they're on here -- and show them that we can make the world a better place. So put on those rose-colored sunglasses because "here's to the ones who dream."

The Reason Behind The Slogan

"Rubies in the Making"

As you may know, gemstones endure a lot of pressure before becoming a jewel. They are strong throughout a tough process and the end result is beautiful. Besides the fact that Rubí is actually my last name, I want to inspire my readers to become the best versions of themselves. I want to remind them that they are strong and beautiful, like a ruby!
